Tequepis Trailhead Map Tequepis hike starts from this trailhead.
From Santa Barbara Mission, drive 0.7 miles toward the mountains. At the first stop sign, turn left on Foothill Rd. and go 3.0 miles to the junction with Highway 154. Turn right on 154 and drive 16.6 miles, going over San Marcos Pass. Shortly before the entrance to Lake Cachuma, turn left at the sign for St. Vincent de Paul Ranch Camp and Camp Alegre. Go to the end of the road, about 1.3 miles. Part of this road is unpaved, and should be driven with care. There are many "no Trespassing" signs along this stretch, but the road itself is open to the public. The trail begins directly across from the parking area. Total distance from Santa Barbara Mission is 21.6 miles.
